Flip Flops At Weddings?

Remember when wearing a black dress to a wedding was socially unacceptable? Well, those days are long gone, as black is now one of the most popular dress color choices for formal events, including weddings. The same trend is being set for flip flops worn by brides and bridal parties at weddings. As you may be well aware, flip flops are in, and have become a relatively new fashion statement. The styles and options have dramatically increased compared to what was offered several years ago. In searching retail stores or on the Web, you will find yourself inundated with endless options to adorn your feet. There are so many beautiful choices. Flip flops come in every color and style imaginable. Choices range from flowered flip flops, flip flops with jewels, to even unique "Design Your Own" features offered by some companies that enable you to create your perfect pair. The flip flops of today now offer great style with comfort! While flip flops have become popular among students all the way through business professionals, the flip flop craze has even spread to more formal events, such as weddings. Many brides are finding that they prefer to be comfortable during their big day. And why not when they can have beautifully decorated white flip flops with satin roses in ivory or white to match their dresses, or perhaps crystals are the preferred choice. The options are endless, and elegance does not have to be sacrificed for comfort. It is not uncommon for brides to outfit their entire bridal parties with custom made flip flops to match the bridal gowns. While preserving elegance and style, flip flops afford the whole bridal party the comfort to have a great time minus the blisters and sore feet normally assocoiated with wearing new heels or dress shoes. Many brides choose to give the flip flops as gifts to the bridal party the night before the big day at rehearsal dinner. Similarly, bridal parties tend to give the bride a fun honeymoon gift which could in fact be a unique pair of flip flops. Either way, it is important to get the correct foot size before your purchase. Times have changed, especially when one considers what is a "socially acceptable" fashion sense. So if you thought that wearing flip flops was only reserved for beach weddings- well then you are wrong. About the Author: Marlyse Minnich http://www.walkingonroses.com
